Inara George
Member Community Partner Recording artist, Inara George is an Los Angeles native and fierce community advocate, using her passion for singing to raise awareness for social causes. Inara grew up in Topanga Canyon and now resides in Hollywood with husband Jake Kasdan and three children (Otis 6, Beau 4 and Lorelei 4). She attended Topanga Elementary, Paul Revere Junior High and Crossroads School for high school. She had a brief stint at Emerson College in Boston, but was torn away by the promise of a record deal at Geffen records where she released her first album at 21 years old. And from then to now, she has been recording and releasing records under her own name, and with her bands Merrick, The Bird and The Bee, and The Living Sisters. Inara is passionate about giving back to her community. She has performed at countless charity events. Throughout the years she has organized concerts to benefit the Theatricum Botanicum (a non-profit community theater in Topanga) and the Plastic Pollution Coalition. She's been a part of the host committee for Planned Parenthood’s event “Politics Sex and Cocktails” for over 10 years and received the organization's Champions of Choice award along with her husband. Inara recognizes the inequity of our society, which drives her charity pursuits., and is eager to do whatever she can to bridge that gap. |
