Judy Saunders joined CISLA in June 2021 to oversee the organization’s data systems and evaluate the progress of programs. She is excited to provide support with making equitable data informed decisions and to share data driven stories about all of the incredible work that the agency does.
Judy has dedicated her professional career to social justice and empowering underserved communities of Los Angeles through direct service and systems change. Prior to joining CISLA, she worked at Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) as both a Procurement and Performance Analyst, where she worked on using data evaluation to drive equity while determining how to disperse funding and improve programs for youth experiencing homelessness. She then moved on to work as the Program Manager for a startup nonprofit called Bread Head, where she designed and implemented programs around food security, financial literacy, and health and wellness for youth and families experiencing housing insecurity. Most recently, she worked as an Independent Data and Impact Consultant that supported local nonprofits with managing projects around strategic planning, developing data collection systems, program evaluation, and development. Ms. Saunders earned her BA in Anthropology and Civic Engagement at UCLA. She is also a certified 200-hour trauma informed yoga instructor, and enjoys volunteering her time teaching prenatal and kids yoga at local community organizations. |
