99th Street Elementary School

Angela Juarez joined the CISLA team at the beginning of February 2022 as a Site Director for 99th Street Elementary school. She can’t wait to begin working with the values of CISLA to empower students and support their families through education and character growth. With her previous case management experience, she hopes to help connect families to community resources and increase family participation in the student’s education.

Previously Ms. Juarez held the position of Family Case Manager for the Gang Reduction and Youth Development program at Champions in Service, a non-profit that focusing on serving the San Fernando Valley and its underrepresented populations. Ms. Juarez was able to serve the Mission area of the Valley, where she connected with many families and provided supportive services. Through this work, Ms. Juarez was able to set goals with individuals to ultimately change their decision-making skills, find them a better support system, and give them an opportunity for a different future. Ms. Juarez also served as Residential Advisor for Los Angeles Job Corp and the Summer Math and Science Honors Academy. Both organizations support underrepresented populations and expose them to different career opportunities. Ms. Juarez hopes to continue to serve her community and underrepresented communities in her career.

Ms. Juarez earned her B.A. in Cognitive Science from USC. She was born and raised in the local community around USC’s university park campus. She enjoys trying new food, going to Disneyland, the occasional hike, and starting crafts.
