Program Associate
Alan brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles in education and community engagement. As a Site Coordinator, Alan supported students’ social-emotional and academic growth while aligning with the overall school vision. His work focused on positively impacting students’ lives through mentorship, resource connection, and fostering a nurturing school environment.
Alan also, served as a Community Representative at Hamilton High School, where he dedicated himself to supporting the English learner population and their families. In this capacity, he worked closely with school administration, providing crucial clerical and event planning support. This experience allowed him to refine his skills in communication and deepen his commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments where all students can thrive.
Alan’s educational journey reflects his dedication to understanding and addressing educational disparities. He began his studies at El Camino College, where he gained a critical perspective on oppressive structures in education. This insight fueled his pursuit of higher education, culminating in a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach in May 2024.
Alan’s passion for creating supportive and inclusive spaces aligns seamlessly with CISLA’s mission, and he is eager to contribute his expertise to enhance our programs and support our students’ success.
