Michelle Del Rio, M.A. joined CISLA in 2021, serving as the proud Site Director at Edwin Markham Middle School in Watts. Michelle has served in various roles in Education and direct service to families over the last 15 years. During this time, Michelle remained committed to empowering & elevating the voices & minds of students & families across LA County. In her current role as a Site Director, Michelle has empowered students to find their voices, often surrounding them with a safe space to grow & learn while supporting their overall well being at school. Michelle has a passion for advocacy and equity she brings this into all her work.
Prior to her role as Site Director at CISLA , Michelle worked as a In-Home Outreach Councilor supporting families with linkages to basic needs services, mental health services, enhancing parenting skills, healthy communication skills & advocacy. Michelle also served as an instructional aide in special education. Michelle has also volunteered in various capacities within the school system & non- profits to strengthen parent and family engagement. Throughout each experience, Michelle has had the opportunity to work in collaboration with our students, families and multiple Los Angeles County agencies to ensure every stake holder has the skills the need to be successful. Michelle as a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona & a Master of Arts in Child Development from Cal State University, Los Angeles.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys reading and spending time with her Family & friends.
