Operations Coordinator
Nathon Camacho-Morfin (Operations Coordinator) has been a part of Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) since 2023. In their current role as Operations Coordinator, Nathon supports the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness by overseeing critical operational functions, ensuring smooth internal processes, and strengthening the infrastructure that enables CISLA to fulfill its mission of enhancing children’s academic and life success.
Nathon brings to the organization a strong foundation in administrative tasks and research management. They wholeheartedly embrace CISLA’s mission of nurturing academic and life success through supportive communities and are enthusiastic about contributing their diverse skill set to our dynamic team, making them an integral part of achieving CISLA’s vision.
Before joining CISLA, Nathon served as Administrative Assistant/Jr. Research Specialist at the University of California, Irvine's Department of Chicano/Latino Studies. In this role, they excelled in managing appointments, interviews, and team meetings, strengthening interdepartmental communication, and improving daily operations. They also contributed to research efforts through the development of study protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents, while supervising and training undergraduate research assistants in data collection and analysis. In addition, Nathon has supported youth through volunteer work, providing academic assistance to Black and Latino students and coordinating community outreach events at El Sol Science and Arts Academy of Santa Ana.
Nathon is an alum of the University of California, Irvine, where they earned dual degrees in Psychology & Social Behavior and Criminology, Law & Society, along with a minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies. Beyond their professional pursuits, Nathon enjoys hiking, traveling, exploring the arts, and spending quality time with friends, family, and their beloved pets.
